Celebrated on December 3rd, this day raises awareness and promotes conservation efforts for the coatimundi, a relative of the raccoon found in Central and South America. Founded by Australian wildlife specialist and zookeeper Rhianna Wilton, it highlights the beauty and significance of these unique, underappreciated animals, coinciding with the middle of the coati breeding season.
